Artisan Baker & Cake Specialist Savory Catering is looking for a dependable, skilled, and motivated Artisan Baker & Cake Specialist to join our growing team in Searcy area. This position will be responsible for preparing high-quality breads, pastries, cakes, and specialty baked goods while maintaining consistency, quality, and presentation. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with dough and cakes, understands the baking process, and takes pride in creating beautiful, high-quality products. The right candidate will be reliable, creative, detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment. Responsibilities Prepare and bake breads, pastries, cakes, and specialty baked goods according to recipes and production standards. Mix, portion, knead, shape, proof, and bake various types of dough. Prepare cake batters, fillings, frostings, and specialty cake components. Decorate and finish cakes and other desserts with attention to detail and presentation. Create simple and specialty cake designs based on customer and event needs. Follow recipes accurately while maintaining consistent quality, flavor, texture, and portion sizes. Monitor dough fermentation, proofing, baking times, and temperatures. Prepare and shape filled dough products and specialty items. Apply egg washes, toppings, seeds, glazes, frostings, and other finishing ingredients. Operate and properly care for commercial mixers, ovens, baking equipment, and other kitchen equipment. Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workstations. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures. Properly store, label, and organize ingredients and finished products. Prepare baked goods and cakes for catering events, celebrations, and special orders. Maintain consistent product appearance and quality. Assist with inventory and communicate ingredient and supply needs. Work efficiently to meet daily production and catering deadlines. Assist with cleaning and closing duties as needed. Follow all company policies and procedures. Qualifications & Experience Previous baking, pastry, cake decorating, bakery, restaurant, or food-service experience preferred. Experience working with yeast dough and artisan-style breads is a plus. Cake decorating and finishing experience preferred. Knowledge of dough mixing, fermentation, proofing, shaping, and baking. Strong attention to detail, presentation, and consistency. Ability to follow recipes and production instructions accurately. Creative approach to cake and dessert presentation. Ability to work independently while also working well as part of a team. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to safely lift and move ingredients, equipment, and supplies. Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and event-based schedules as needed.
