With breakfast, lunch, and a relaxed afternoon wine program, it focuses on seasonal cooking, thoughtful preparation, and everyday ease, creating a place guests can rely on and return to often. Overview Kat's Kitchen is looking for a lead Baker to collaborate with new ownership to evolve its legacy. The Baker will work closely with the Chef team to maintain quality standards, contribute to recipe development, and support a kitchen culture rooted in collaboration, respect, and shared ownership. What You'll Do
  • Execute daily production of baked goods, including morning pastries, biscuits, and desserts
  • Contribute to recipe development and seasonal menu updates, with a focus on simple, well-executed items
  • Follow and refine recipes to ensure consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation
  • Manage prep lists and baking schedules to support daily service needs
  • Maintain quality and freshness standards across all items
  • Monitor ingredient levels and communicate ordering needs
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked workstations
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure alignment across prep and service
  • Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and equipment standards
  • Participate in daily setup, breakdown, and cleaning procedures Who You Are We are seeking someone who brings both technical skill and a grounded, team-oriented mindset:
  • We are open to a range of experience levels, including self-taught or home bakers with strong fundamentals, curiosity, and a desire to grow in a professional kitchen
  • 1-2+ years of professional baking or pastry experience in a cafe, restaurant, or production kitchen is preferred
  • Familiarity with a range of baked goods (pastries, quick breads, cookies, desserts)
  • Interest in recipe development and seasonal cooking
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency
  • Organized and able to manage time and production independently
  • A collaborative team player who communicates clearly and supports others
  • Calm, steady, and solutions-oriented in a fast-paced environment
  • Takes pride in craft without ego, focused on the collective outcome Health & Safety
  • Solid understanding of professional kitchen standards and expectations.
  • Ability to follow recipes, techniques, and quality requirements precisely.
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency.
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and professional under pressure.
  • Commitment to cleanliness, organization, and food safety.
  • Must have or obtain a California Food Handler's Certification. Work Environment
  • Involves standing and walking the entire shift
  • Involves holding objects with hands
  • Involves reaching, bending, and stooping frequently
  • Involves lifting, moving, and carrying at least 25-50 pounds with frequency throughout the shift
