Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the daily operations of our bakery, ensuring that all products are prepared and presented to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role will support the bakery 3 days per week Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Please do not apply if you are seeking full time employment. Responsibilities Assist in food preparation, including making sandwiches, assembling orders, and assembling baked goods. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the store. Operate POS systems such as Toast for processing transactions. Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and offering product recommendations. Upsell bakery items to enhance customer experience and increase sales. Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently while adhering to cash handling procedures. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation during peak hours. Qualifications Previous experience in the food industry or quick service & fast food restaurant is preferred. Culinary experience or kitchen experience is a plus. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor. Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations. Knowledge of sanitation practices and food safety regulations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Experience with cashiering and serving is beneficial.
