We are currently looking for someone who will work closely alongside our main baker to help with the day-to-day preparation and production of our cakes and baked goods. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys baking, and being part of a creative and fast-paced environment. The Baking Assistant will help with ingredient preparation, mixing batters, baking cakes, preparing fillings and frostings, packaging orders, maintaining a clean workspace, and assisting with other bakery production needs. We are also preparing to expand our bakery into a café and sweets shop , which will create opportunities for this position to grow as the business expands. As our café opens and our team grows, there will be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and advance within the company. This position is available part-time or full-time, with approximately 25-40 hours per week Responsibilities Assist the main baker with daily cake and bakery production Measure and prepare ingredients according to established recipes Prepare and mix cake batters Bake cakes and other baked goods Assist with preparing fillings, frostings, and other cake components Assist with cake decorating and finishing as needed Operate mixers, ovens, and other bakery equipment safely Package baked goods and customer orders carefully and professionally Assist with slicing, portioning, assembling, and preparing baked items Follow recipes and instructions carefully to maintain consistency and quality Keep work areas, equipment, and kitchen surfaces clean and organized Wash dishes and assist with general kitchen cleanup when needed Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and food-handling procedures Work closely with the main baker and bakery team to keep daily production running smoothly Assist with additional bakery or café-related tasks as the business expands Qualifications Previous baking, pastry, bakery, or food preparation experience is preferred but not required A willingness to learn and follow recipes and instructions carefully Interest in baking, cakes, pastries, or the food industry Ability to measure ingredients accurately and follow recipes Strong attention to detail and cleanliness Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing physical kitchen tasks Ability to work independently while also being a team player Reliable, punctual, and dependable Positive attitude and willingness to learn Basic knowledge of food safety and proper food handling is a plus Growth Opportunities This position starts primarily as a support role for our main baker , but there is room to grow as Antica's Cake Couture continues to expand. We are preparing to open our café and sweets shop , which will expand our offerings and create additional opportunities within the business. As the team grows, employees who demonstrate reliability, initiative, and strong performance may have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities, develop their baking and decorating skills, and advance into more senior bakery or café positions.
