Job Description
All-rounder pastry and bread baker Job description We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and hardworking bread and pastry production baker to join our small and growing family-run bakery. We serve naturally leavened, artisan breads and pastry items to select Farmers Markets in North Jersey. The ideal candidate is familiar with high-hydration and slowly fermented doughs, has strong communication skills, and is open to learning and developing their craft in a warm, community-focused environment. Responsibilities Mix, shape, and bake a range of naturally leavened breads and pastry items Monitor dough proofing and fermentation stages with care and consistency Produce laminated doughs and viennoiserie items Prepare pastry batters and other baked goods for Farmers Market service Follow recipes and production schedules accurately Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards throughout the kitchen Required experience Minimum 1 year experience in a commercial bakery or bread and pastry program (required). Familiarity with naturally leavened and slow-fermentation techniques Experience working with high-hydration doughs Ability to read and follow written instructions and recipes Strong team player with good communication skills Preferred skills Pastry
