Job Overview:

We are seeking to hire a skilled Pastry Chef with a passion for the culinary arts to join our bakery team to assist in the production of Vermont Country Deli signature baked goods. The ideal candidate makes exceptional baked goods, thrives in a high-volume environment, is hard-working and dependable.

Pay Range:

$18-$20 per hour plus tips

Responsibilities:

Prepare a variety of specialty cakes, tarts, eclairs, pies, pastries, muffins, scones, cookies and artisan breads. Execute cake decorating techniques with precision and creativity Collaborate with bakery team to meet customer needs Present visually appealing baked good displays Operate standard bakery equipment safely and efficiently Maintain clean, organized, and sanitized work areas and equipment while preparing food items for our bakery. Ensure proper food handling health and safety regulations are followed

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a culinary role, preferably specializing in pastry Ability to follow directions and recipes as instructed Knowledge of bakery operations, food safety regulations, bakery techniques Experience with cake decorating tools and techniques Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Passion for creating delectable pastries and desserts

Required:

Work Weekends Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure efficiently Good time management skills and capable of working independently. In this role you are expected to manage your own time and work semi-independently. Understanding of hospitality standards and customer service Must be able to stand for long periods Frequent bending, twisting, lifting and squatting will be required Must be able to move up to 55lb
