Duties Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met. Engage with customers warmly, taking orders accurately and providing friendly service to enhance their café experience. Handle retail sales transactions efficiently using POS systems such as Toast POS or Micros POS, processing cash and card payments with precision. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food handling and beverage service stations, adhering to food safety standards. Assist in food preparation tasks as needed, ensuring all food industry safety protocols are followed for quality and hygiene. Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining high service standards. Support the team with general cleaning duties, restocking supplies, and ensuring the bakery environment remains inviting and safe for all guests. Skills Proven experience as a barista or in food service environments with knowledge of beverage preparation techniques. Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast POS or Micros POS for retail sales transactions and cash handling. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction processing. Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures in the café or food industry. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours efficiently.
