Crew is looking for a friendly, hardworking barista to join our team. We're an independently owned breakfast, lunch and specialty coffee shop in downtown Chatham. We care a lot about what we serve, but just as much about how people feel when they walk through the door. We're looking for someone who naturally enjoys hospitality, works well with a team and takes pride in doing things the right way. What we're looking for: Previous restaurant, café or hospitality experience Coffee experience is a plus, but not required — we can train you An interest in food and coffee and a willingness to really learn our menu Warm, genuine and comfortable talking with customers Reliable, organized and able to stay composed when it gets busy Strong attention to cleanliness and detail Willing to jump in wherever the team needs help Morning and daytime availability The job: Being a barista at Crew is about more than making drinks. You'll be expected to know our entire food and beverage menu, understand ingredients and preparation, confidently answer guest questions and make thoughtful recommendations. You'll make coffee and specialty drinks, take orders, take care of guests, keep the bar and café clean and organized and work alongside the rest of the Crew team to keep service moving. We use a fully automatic espresso system, so traditional barista experience isn't essential. We care much more about hospitality, food and menu knowledge, work ethic, consistency, attention to detail and being a great teammate. Crew is busy, fast-paced and detail-oriented, but we want it to be a genuinely good place to work.
