Overview:

We are seeking a friendly and skilled Barista to join our team at our new café. As a Barista, you will be responsible for greeting customers, taking orders, preparing and serving high-quality drinks and food to our customers, and keeping the facility cleaned and stocked. This is a fast-paced and dynamic role that requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Schedule can be somewhat flexible, however, the ideal candidate is available weekdays and weekends. No nights. Pay is hourly plus tips.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and engage with customers as they enter the establishment.
• Educate customers on menu items and answer any questions they ask.
• Provide recommendations according to the customer's preferences.
• Manage cash and operate a point-of-sale system efficiently.
• Prepare and serve a variety of drinks, including coffee, espresso, teas, and more.
• Deliver food to customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Maintain stock of coffee, mugs, syrups, bar fridge, to go supplies, and more.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming dining area by cleaning tables, restocking the condiment bar, clearing dirty dishes, and spot cleaning floors, as needed.
• Work as a team player to promote an efficient and fun work environment.
• Complete opening/closing duties as listed on checklist before end of shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Arrive for your shift promptly on time.

Requirements:

• Experience in a front of house food service industry. 1+ year barista experience highly preferred.
• Knowledge and passion for coffee and its various serving methods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in basic math, including handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
• Ability to learn and operate specialized equipment, such as espresso machines.
• Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and contributing to a positive team environment.

Pay:

$16.00
