Ovation Coffee & Tea is a 5 star family owned shop with a Moroccan twist. We were voted the #3 coffee shop in the USA and Canada on Yelp in 2022 and we are currently looking for baristas and individuals that would be interested in becoming a barista and potentially be a part of our long term vision as we continue to grow and open new stores next year! We have 6 locations around Portland and Lake Oswego, with a 7th on the way. We are looking for friendly and outgoing people to add to our team now. The ideal candidate is one who can work in a fast paced environment and love working with people and providing excellent customer service. Once hired, your hard work will not go unnoticed and will be rewarded with more hours, raises, promotions and benefits! Especially as we continue to grow and have plans to open more shops the growth within the company as we continue to expand and spread the Moroccan hospitality is endless! The beginning pay range listed includes tips.
Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience with coffee, tea, and espresso beverages
Looking to work long term and not just a stepping stone job
Ability to delegate and lead a staff
Reliable and punctual
Organized, detail oriented and ability to multitask
Willing to complete cleaning duties
Willing to work in the preparation of food
Available to work a schedule that may include weekends and some holidays
Must have an Oregon Food Handler's card

Shoes No dirty shoes Non slip soles on shoes No open toes No sandals, boots, slippers, or footwear with a heel strap Hygiene Must maintain good personal hygiene by regularly washing hands, brushing teeth Minimize body odors by using deodorants, anti perspirants, or other products as needed Brushed teeth and good breath Must be groomed well Nails need to be well kept and groomed, and no flaking nail polish or gel Nails that extend beyond the fingertip that interfere with employee job duties are not allowed Neat hair. Pulled back and secured firmly to prevent it from getting in food and drinks Clean and well groomed facial hair, if applicable No unnatural hair colors No hats or hair decorations of any type Clothing No short skirts or short shorts! You can wear shorts, dresses, skirts that go to the knees No exposed midriff or lower back, especially when reaching high or low to grab things No ragged, dirty, wrinkled, or holey clothing No leggings for pants No half shirts or shirts that are revealing No open back, cap sleeve, or sleeveless shirts No clothing with writing on them or non branded graphics that contain hate, discrimination, violence, explicit, or other graphics that are disruptive No clothing with writing or graphics that may be political or offensive to others No sagging pants Must wear an apron the entire time you are working. Remove it before going into the restroom and put it back on when you return to the work area. Jewelry and Facial Piercings Facial piercings other than nostril nose rings are not allowed while on duty Earrings should be small and discreet Other types of jewelry should be minimal and should not interfere with job duties We understand that you may have personal, cultural, or religious reasons for wearing certain types of clothing or jewelry.
