Tamarack is entering an exciting period of growth — a master plan renovation is underway, our culinary and beverage programs continue to expand, and our reputation among private clubs in the region continues to rise. We're looking for a Sommelier/Beverage Manager who wants to build something meaningful and help shape the next chapter of the club's food and beverage program. Position Overview The Sommelier/Beverage Manager leads Tamarack's wine and beverage program from the ground up — curating our wine list and by-the-glass offerings, running member-facing wine events, and managing the day-to-day operations of the bar program. This is a hands-on, member-facing role for someone who wants ownership over a growing program at a club investing in its future. The Sommelier/Beverage Manager reports to the Director of Food & Beverage and oversees bar and beverage service staff. Key Responsibilities Curate and continually develop Tamarack's wine list and by-the-glass program, including selection, sourcing, and pricing strategy Plan and host wine dinners, tastings, and special beverage events for members and guests Build and maintain relationships with distributors, wineries, and importers; negotiate pricing and secure allocations Manage beverage inventory, cost controls, and ordering across wine, spirits, and bar programs Hire, train, and supervise bar and beverage service staff; lead pre-shift wine and spirits education for the broader F&B team Partner with the Director of F&B and culinary leadership on menu pairings, private events, and seasonal programming Ensure full compliance with state and local alcohol service regulations and responsible beverage service standards Maintain wine storage, cellar management, and proper handling/service standards Deliver a polished, knowledgeable member experience at the table, on the floor, and at club events Qualifications Certified Sommelier (Court of Master Sommeliers) or equivalent professional certification (WSET Level 3+, ISG, etc.) 3-5+ years of progressive sommelier or beverage management experience, ideally in a private club, luxury hospitality, or fine dining setting Proven experience managing a wine program end-to-end: list curation, purchasing, inventory, and cost control Supervisory experience with bar or beverage service staff Strong knowledge of spirits, beer, and cocktail programs in addition to wine Polished, professional presence with excellent member/guest service skills Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as club events require What Tamarack Offers Competitive salary, commensurate with experience The opportunity to build a wine and beverage program at a club investing heavily in its future A collaborative, growth-oriented F&B leadership team Benefits package details provided during the interview process
