We are seeking hardworking, fast-moving, and dependable Barbacks to support our bar team for the upcoming event season! Position Summary As a Barback at Acre 17, you are the engine behind our bar operations. Working closely alongside our bartenders, you ensure our service stations remain fully stocked, clean, and operating smoothly throughout high-volume events. This position is open to candidates 18 years of age and older. It is an excellent entry-level role into event hospitality—ideal for energetic individuals looking for flexible, high-earning weekend work in a dynamic venue setting.

Key Responsibilities Pre-Event Bar Setup:

Transport beer, wine, spirits, mixers, ice, and glassware from storage to indoor bar stations and the Forge Bar & Patio. Prep fresh garnishes, set up ice wells, and organize bar tools and beverage stations before guests arrive.

During Event Operations:

Restock ice, beer kegs, liquor bottles, glassware, and mixers in real-time to keep bartenders pouring without interruption. Monitor and maintain cleanliness behind the bar and in guest service areas (wiping counters, clearing empty glasses, removing trash). Assist with quick changes during event transitions (e.g., cocktail hour to dinner reception).

Post-Event Clean-Up & Breakdown:

Break down bar equipment, empty ice bins, and wash/organize bar tools and glassware. Return unused inventory, liquor, and kegs safely to storage areas. Perform end-of-night bar cleaning, including sanitizing counters, sweeping/mopping bar floors, and trash disposal.

Requirements & Qualifications Age:

Must be 18 years of age or older (required by state regulations to handle unopened alcoholic beverages and support bar service).

Certifications:

Valid Illinois BASSET Certification and Food Handler Certificate (or willing to obtain upon hire).

Physical Capability:

High physical endurance—ability to stand, walk, push/pull, and lift up to 40-50 lbs regularly (cases of liquor, beer boxes, ice buckets, kegs).

Speed & Stamina:

Ability to move efficiently and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

Availability:

Flexible weekend availability (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays), including late-evening night shifts.
