Duties Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beer, wine, spirits, mocktails, lassi, and specialty drinks. Create and serve drinks that complement Nepalese and Indian cuisine, including cocktails featuring flavors such as mango, cardamom, ginger, mint, lime, and masala spices. Take beverage and food orders from bar guests accurately and efficiently. Provide friendly, welcoming, and attentive customer service. Explain menu items and recommend drinks that pair well with Nepalese and Indian dishes. Verify customers' identification and follow all state and local alcohol-service laws. Monitor guests' alcohol consumption and practice responsible alcohol service. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, including counters, glassware, equipment, sinks, and storage areas. Restock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, ice, glassware, and other bar supplies. Prepare garnishes, syrups, juices, and other ingredients before and during shifts. Accurately enter orders into the POS system and process cash and credit-card payments. Maintain accurate tabs and properly close customer checks. Monitor bar inventory and inform management when products need to be reordered. Help minimize waste by following appropriate portioning and drink recipes. Follow food-safety, sanitation, and alcohol-handling requirements. Assist servers with drink orders during busy periods and communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff. Keep the bar attractive, stocked, and ready for service throughout the shift. Help create a warm atmosphere that reflects Nepalese and Indian hospitality and culture . Assist with opening and closing duties, including stocking, cleaning, inventory checks, and securing alcohol. Perform other restaurant duties as assigned by management. Skills Proven experience in bartending within fine dining, nightclub, or banquet settings with a strong foundation in mixology and beverage presentation. Extensive knowledge of spirits, wine varieties, craft beers, and cocktail recipes; ability to develop new drinks is a plus. Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for processing transactions swiftly and accurately. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly while managing multiple orders efficiently. Strong time management skills to handle busy service periods without compromising quality or speed. Familiarity with food safety standards, food handling procedures, and proper alcohol service regulations. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and special events like private parties or nightclub nights. Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations for sales promotions or discounts, and inventory management.
