First & Main is hiring Servers & Bartenders to join our opening team in Monroe City. We are a full-service restaurant and bar serving New American food with a strong Italian influence . Our goal is professional service without the stiffness of fine dining—a place where families, date nights, regulars, and special occasions all feel equally welcome. We're looking for people who are personable, dependable, attentive, and willing to work as part of a team. Previous serving or bartending experience is preferred, but we're willing to train the right people. What You'll Do Depending on your position and experience, responsibilities may include: Provide friendly, professional service to guests Learn our food, cocktail, beer, wine, and brunch menus Take and accurately enter food and beverage orders Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages Make genuine food and beverage recommendations Follow responsible alcohol-service and ID procedures Communicate allergies, modifications, and guest requests Maintain beverages and anticipate guest needs Run food and assist throughout the dining room Maintain clean and organized tables, service areas, and bar areas Handle guest checks, cash, payments, and tips accurately Complete opening, closing, checkout, and sidework responsibilities Help resolve guest concerns and involve management when appropriate Participate in paid opening training and mock services What We're Looking For We want people who: Genuinely enjoy taking care of guests Are dependable and communicate well Can stay organized during a busy service Are comfortable talking with all kinds of people Pay attention to details Take coaching and want to improve Help teammates without constantly needing to be asked Take ownership when something goes wrong Understand that professional service doesn't have to be formal Can work efficiently while maintaining a welcoming attitude Bartending candidates should be comfortable learning and consistently preparing First & Main's cocktail program while maintaining a clean, organized bar and providing service to both bar guests and the dining room. Our Service Philosophy At First & Main, the assigned server owns the table, but the entire team owns the dining room. If food needs to be run, run it. If a guest needs something, help them. If a teammate is overwhelmed and you can help, help. "That's not my table" is not the First & Main standard. We're looking for people who can provide the level of service you'd expect from a great restaurant while making guests feel completely comfortable. Schedule Our regular restaurant service is Friday through Sunday , including Friday dinner, Saturday service, and Sunday brunch. Weekend availability is important. Additional hours may be available through private events, weddings, and catering. Restaurant shift end times can vary based on guest volume and closing responsibilities.

Compensation Server:

$7.50/hour + tips

Bartender:
