PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Server:
To achieve high standards of excellence and quality they must set places at dining tables, take orders, serve food and drinks, answer inquiries about menu and attend to wishes of guest, as well as suggestively selling of food and drinks with the knowledge of proper table service and etiquette.
Bartender:
Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guests of bar and service bar following standard recipes and the Company's alcoholic beverage policies; merchandises drinks; and is attentive to guests, making them feel welcome at all times.
PRIMARY DUTIES
:
Server:
Answer questions about food and drinks including ingredients, preparation and accompanying items. Greet newly seated guests in a friendly manner within 30 seconds of being seated. Take drink order at guest greeting, deliver beverages & offer appetizers. Take entire order and repeat order to guests for clarification. Merchandise menu items, such as appetizers, entrees, beverages, and desserts. Ring up orders on P.O.S. quickly and in proper sequence using appropriate abbreviations and charges. Follow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing & handling intoxication of guests. Observe and attend to guest's needs ensure guest satisfaction. Maintain table appearance by pre-bussing, checking drink levels, changing ashtrays, removing clutter and providing extra napkins if necessary. Total bill and present check upon removal of last plate or upon request. Request that guest fill out comment card. Accept payment and provide change or credit card voucher within 1-3 minutes of guests' payment. Follow appropriate accounting procedures for closing checks and vouchers. Give a warm and pleasant farewell to guests and invite then to return. Keep station clean, sets up and take down station appropriately adhering to company sanitation procedures. Attend shift meetings according to shift schedule. Keep Director of Food & Beverage, or supervisor, promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternative courses of action. Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position. Maintain a favorable working relationship with other employees and purveyors to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment. Perform any additional duties as assigned by Management.
Bartender:
Handling of all monies and end of night reports and procedures following all Top of the World and Saw Creek policies and regulations. Report all discrepancies to Director of Food & Beverage or supervisor, immediately for reconciliation. Mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, water and sugar to prepare cocktails and other drinks. Serve wine, draft or bottled beer and food to bar guests. Collect payment (credit cards or cash) for drinks served following company established accounting procedures for all transactions & secure all monies at the end of each shift. Observe guests and respond to their needs including guiding them in selecting food & beverage items. Merchandise Cocktail Hours, special events, etc. Follow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing and handling intoxication of guests. Possess proficient knowledge of liquor quality and preparation of over 400 different drinks and keeps updated on new and revised beverage receipts. Assist servers in bar knowledge (proper glassware, correct garnish, etc.). Clean, sanitize, restock and stores bar items according to procedures. Keep immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary. Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position. Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company employees and purveyors to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate. Provide a favorable image of Saw Creek Estates at all times to promote its aims and objectives, and to foster and enhance public recognition and acceptance of all areas of endeavor. Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Must be able to operate POS computer, make changes correctly and make credit card transactions accurately. Must be able to calmly respond to angry guests and notify a manager. Must be able to read and write notes to hearing impaired guests & verbalize menu items clearly to guests. Must be able to read menus to sight impaired guests & respond clearly to all other guest requests. Must be able to balance money at end of each shift. Must be able to effectively card all guests who appear under the age of 30 for alcohol purchases as well as to ensure Saw Creek Membership status.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be dressed neatly and well-groomed in Saw Creek approved uniform. Must be able to deliver plate and food and clear tables which may require lifting to 30lbs. Stands and walks, reaches, bends, stoops & wipes during entire 6-8-hour shift. Must be able to hear well amongst loud background noise. Lifts 30lbs. cases several times per shift and carries up one flight of stairs. Frequent immersion of hands in hot water (every 5 minutes).
