Colen Academy serves students in kindergarten through 8th grade. Along with the school's mission to cultivate passionate learners in an inclusive school community in which individuality and empathy for other through collaboration and active learning, its passionate team of teachers has contributed to the achievement of a Grade "A" for four academic years in a row! The Ina A. Colen Academy is seeking a dedicated and dependable individual to serve in a dual-role position as a Cafeteria Custodian and Aftercare Worker. This is a part-time position for an individual who enjoys working in a school environment and supporting the health, safety, and well-being of students. The selected candidate will work up to six (6) hours per day during the school year, with responsibilities divided between cafeteria custodial duties and aftercare support.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Cafeteria Custodian - Daily cleaning and sanitizing of cafeteria to included wiping down tables and chairs sweeping, mopping and other duties assigned as needed. Empty trash receptacles, clean windows. Reports damage and safety issues to supervisor on duty. Supervise students to ensure orderly lunch shifts are conducted efficiently. Aftercare Worker - Provide care and supervision to students, ensuring their safety and well-being, assist students with daily tasks and activities, implement behavior management techniques to promote a positive learning environment, collaborate with teachers and staff to support student development, utilize effective communication skills to interact with students, parents, and colleagues, maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress, support students with special needs or those requiring additional assistance and engage students in recreational activities, tutoring sessions, and sports coaching. Minimum Qualifications High school graduate or equivalency diploma. Must be 18 years of age. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to pass a level II background screening and drug screening.
