Maine Retirement Investment Trust About the Role As our Breakfast Attendant / Cook , you are the heart of our guests' morning experience. You'll combine warm hospitality with light culinary prep to deliver a welcoming, high-quality breakfast buffet.

Key Responsibilities:

Buffet Line Setup:

Prepare hot holding stations, cold display units, juice dispensers, coffee stations, and toaster setups before doors open.

Food Display:

Stock hot items (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes), cold items (yogurt, fruit, pastries, cereal), and condiments. Ensure fresh and appealing presentation.

Dining Room Prep:

Ensure tables are clean, sanitized, and set with napkins, cutlery, salt and pepper shakers, and sugar caddies.

Greeting Guests:

Welcome guests warmly as they enter the breakfast area, often checking room numbers or vouchers depending on hotel policy.

Qualifications Experience:

Previous culinary or breakfast service experience preferred but not required.

Skills:

Customer Service, Time Management, Organization.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Certifications:

ServSafe certification is a plus (we will sponsor training after 90 days).

Mindset:

Positive attitude, reliable, team-oriented, and passionate about guest service.

Schedule Requirements Shifts:

Wednesday through Sunday (Weekends and holidays required).

Days Off:

Mondays and Tuesdays off every week.

General Job Requirements:

Working knowledge of applicable sanitation standards. Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different floors of the hotel on a timely basis. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees. Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
