Job Description

Overview Join us as an Empowered Employment Advocate/ Cafe Worker, where you will play a vital role in fostering inclusive, supportive work environments for individuals with diverse abilities. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to empower survivors by providing meaningful employment experiences within a cozy cafe setting. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help promote workforce development, social integration, and personal growth for those we serve. As a key team member, you will champion independence, skill-building, and community engagement through hands-on support and mentorship. Responsibilities Assist victim/survivors in learning skills and eliminate other barriers to employment in daily cafe operations, including food prep, customer service, and cleaning tasks. Provide coaching and mentoring to promote skill development, independence, and confidence in the workplace. Facilitate training sessions on workplace skills, social work principles, and job-specific tasks using Microsoft Office tools for documentation and planning. Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and community partners to support client progress and address needs promptly. Manage case records, progress notes, and client communication logs accurately to track individual development and program outcomes. Support workforce development initiatives by connecting clients with additional social services or community resources as needed. Complete confidentiality of client information. Qualifications Background in advocacy or mentoring is highly desirable. Kitchen background and customer service is extremely helpful. Serve-safe trained is a bonus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for record keeping and program planning. Experience working with culturally diverse communities and underserved populations to promote inclusivity. Familiarity with workforce development programs, social services, case management practices, and client advocacy. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude focused on empowerment. Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 30.0 per week
