Position Description :
To perform a variety of basic responsibilities including: ordering and shelving stock goods and food items, completing get-ready and sanitizing procedures, assembly of portions / bag lunches / special items, setting up the serving line, clean up and re-set, record keeping, cashiering as scheduled and related duties of comparable skill level in a manner which contributes to the effective, efficient and safe preparation and delivery of school nutrition produces and/or services. Duties and Responsibilities of the
Position:
A. Develops and maintains a good working knowledge of applicable department and District policies and procedures, complying with such policies and procedures as established and communicated. B. Confers with the immediate supervisor or in-charge individual at the assigned site to ensure a correct and complete understanding of the work to be done, work priorities and any additional important information should be known. C. Develops and maintains cooperative, productive workplace relationships in a manner which creates a pleasant environment for all those serving and those being served. D. Performs a variety of basic responsibilities outlined in the basic function as scheduled according to established procedures and protocols of the department and/or assigned site. E. Performs additional, comparable duties related to the preparation, serving and clean up of planned meals for school and/or community special events. F. Attends designated and approved in-service or out-of-District training classes and workshops to keep current on the field and policies / procedures of the department. G. Keeps immediate supervisor or in-charge individual informed of all important matters to help minimize downtime or safety problems. H. Performs other kindred job duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or in-charge individual.
Qualifications :
Previous food service experience desired. Basic math and computational skills are required.
Other Skills and Abilities :
Must be able to communicate directions, ideas and concepts. Ability to perform computer entry and use of institutional food service equipment. All new food service employees must pass a pre-placement physical that is arranged through the district.
