The LightEn Center of Consciousness & Action (LCCA) is a new 500-acre retreat center in the Blue Ridge mountains outside of Asheville, North Carolina,will serve as a soul-focused sanctuary and learning center for individual and collective growth, exploration and transformation, focused on catalyzing the evolution of consciousness needed to solve humanity's greatest challenges. The Center will host current and emerging leaders to cultivate and deepen the inner work needed to be more effective change agents in the world. LCCA is the home of LightEn US, which is part of the overall LightEn network.

OVERVIEW

We are seeking dedicated and well-rounded Dining Hall Attendant to help support dining hall operations and ensure an exceptional experience for all who dine at LCCA. Our dining hall, Kitchen Table is self serve, buffet style and vegetarian. During retreats we serve breakfast, lunch and dinner at the center as well as provide food for special events at other locations/times around campus. This role helps support the smooth functioning and flow of all meal services at Kitchen Table. The Dining Hall Attendant role represents an exceptional opportunity for a skilled and dedicated professional to join LightEn's Food & Beverage Team in our start-up phase. You'll work with a collaborative team culture rooted in creating welcoming spaces and memorable dining experiences driven by our values of love and service. Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Collaborate with the food & beverage team to ensure a warm, welcoming environment for all who enter the Kitchen Table. Be knowledgeable when serving guests and able to answer any food related questions, including understanding of menus, ingredients and culinary philosophies. Responsible for cleanliness of the dining hall and ensuring necessary stocking of supplies and equipment. Maintain work area clean, tidy and organized. Uplift any unsafe conditions and model best practices for food safety Set up, restock, maintain and clean food preparation areas. Maintain required par stock of clean and polished glassware and service ware as well as linens. Direct purchasing needs to the Operations Curator to ensure proper quality and quantities. Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross training.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Excitement for working collaboratively with a team and sharing your knowledge. Strong communication, active listening, and problem-solving skills, flexibility, and ability to work independently. Conduct work in a safe, clean, and calm manner that supports an exceptional guest experience. Previous experience as a server or in customer service for a restaurant, a plus. Ability and willingness to build meaningful relationships. Knowledge or interest in our mission, vision, and culture Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business demands, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

Stand for extended periods of time. Talk, hear, and use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or smell. Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

SALARY + BENEFITS

The starting rate for this role is $22 per hour.
