Job Description

Are you a morning person who loves creating a warm, welcoming environment for travelers? Holiday Inn Express & Suites Roanoke Rapids SE is looking for an energetic and attentive Breakfast Attendant to lead our daily Express Start™ Breakfast experience. In this role, you will be the friendly face our guests see first thing in the morning. You'll set up, maintain, and break down our complimentary hot/cold breakfast buffet, ensure food safety standards are met, and keep the dining area spotless and well-stocked.
Key Responsibilities Buffet Setup & Service:
Prepare and stock all food and beverage stations prior to opening at 6:30 AM. Ensure items like hot entrees (eggs, meats), warm cinnamon rolls, pancake station, fresh fruit, cereals, and bean-to-cup coffee are fully stocked throughout service.
Guest Engagement:
Warmly greet guests as they arrive, offer assistance, answer questions about menu items, and deliver exceptional IHG hospitality.
Cleanliness & Maintenance:
Maintain a squeaky-clean dining room, beverage bar, and service area. Promptly clear tables, wipe spills, sanitize surfaces, and restock utensils and napkins.
Food Safety & Inventory:
Monitor food temperatures, follow strict local food handler and IHG brand hygiene standards, rotate stock (FIFO), and report low inventory to management.
Breakdown & Sanitization:
At the conclusion of breakfast (9:30 AM), safely store leftover food, clean and sanitize all food prep equipment and serving stations, sweep/mop floor areas, and prepare the pantry for the next day's service.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Previous experience in hospitality, food service, catering, or customer service preferred (hotel breakfast experience is a plus!).
Schedule:
Ability to work early morning shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry up to 30-40 lbs for extended periods.
Certifications:
Local Food Handler certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Skills:
Friendly, outgoing personality with strong communication skills. Strong attention to detail and cleanliness. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Pay:
$11.00 - $12.50 per hour
