Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of Jersey is seeking a Dining Services Worker A for Dining Services. Among the key duties of this positions are the following: Guides and instructs a group of Dining Services Workers in the performance of general and specialized food handling, dish room operations, and the maintenance of sanitary dining hall facilities.

Provides dining room services, including cash register duties.

Performs any duties of the group. FLSA Nonexempt

Mid Range Salary 41537.780

Maximum Salary 47724.900

    Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Six months food handling experience.

Certifications/Licenses Ability to pass the Food Handler's Certification. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate with customers. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a fine dining environment; bar tending; guiding and training wait staff; cashiering and cash handling.

Knowledge of Aloha or other POS.

Cash and credit card handling.

Experience in restaurant and banquets: reception, tableside service, a-la-carte service.

Proven ability to set up a buffet.

Bar service knowledge, basic wine, spirits and cocktail knowledge.

Ability to understand and gather equipment needs based on EventMaster packing lists.

Phone and in-person customer service.

Ability to take reservations and decide locations to sit guests based on floor plan assignments. Equipment Utilized Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to stand for entire shift.

Ability to lift and carry food and equipment up stairs.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
