In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, serving, and maintaining high-quality food services tailored to the needs of our residents or patients. Duties Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and individual dietary requirements, including special diets for geriatric or medical needs Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and dishwashers, following proper handling procedures Assist with food production tasks such as portioning, plating, and packaging meals to ensure timely delivery Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards and JCAHO regulations Adhere to safe lifting practices when handling heavy items or bulk ingredients, utilizing manual handling techniques to prevent injury Support the dietary department by managing inventory, rotating stock, and ensuring proper storage of perishable items Provide excellent customer service by serving residents or patients with professionalism and respect while addressing their dietary needs Skills Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred Strong knowledge of food preparation, handling, sanitation, and safety protocols including PPE use and food safety certifications Ability to work efficiently under pressure while managing multiple tasks through effective time management skills Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and adhering to workplace safety standards Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with special dietary needs is a plus Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and managing portions accurately Excellent communication skills coupled with a friendly customer service approach Knowledge of nutrition principles relevant to meal planning for diverse populations including those requiring specialized diets such as JCAHO standards Join our team where your culinary expertise makes a meaningful difference!
