The Banquet Captain is responsible to oversee professional and efficient service of Banquet staff at all Banquet functions. This position starts at $16.00 / hour plus receives banquet gratuity, potential to earn approx. $75k a year. To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner, deferring to the Banquet Manager when necessary to ensure customer satisfaction To extend a courteous, friendly, and professional greeting to guests as they arrive, and to thank them as they depart To verify with the guests that room, audio visual and food is set up to their satisfaction To make the Banquet Manager aware of all guest comments and complaints To assist, as directed, to train and support Banquet staff, to maintain highest possible levels of employee morale and service standards To act to ensure guest satisfaction with Banquet service, including previewing all banquet event orders; meeting with clients prior to functions regarding special requirements; directing service staff during functions; and personally overseeing service to V.I.P. tables To satisfactorily perform specified pre-banquet side work, including completing china, glass, and silver set-up sheets; making banquet beverage and food requisitions; pulling the bar for the function; and inspecting the function area for proper set-up To follow specified procedures to prepare and present the banquet check, ensuring proper payment and receipt of host's signature

JOB KNOWLEDGE

High level of English fluency required Must have minimum three years experience in food service, including several months in supervisory position Must be thoroughly familiar with prevailing service styles, standards of plate and food presentation, and a variety of wines and food Working knowledge of Banquet Checks, Micros 9300 Point-of-Sale, Word and Excel required, Marriott CI/TY knowledge preferred
