Job Description

Food Service Worker - Early Childhood Program Seton Hill Child Services, Inc. Do you enjoy preparing food, staying organized, and knowing that your work makes a difference? Seton Hill Child Services, Inc. (SHCS) is seeking a dependable and energetic Food Service Worker to join our early childhood education team. In this role, you will help prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks to young children while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming food-service environment. Your work directly supports the health, development, and well-being of the children we serve. What You'll Do As a Food Service Worker, you will: Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks according to established menus, portion requirements, and schedules. Follow CACFP meal pattern and food-service requirements . Prepare and distribute meals to classrooms in a timely manner. Follow documented food allergies, special dietary needs, substitutions, and Plans for Care . Maintain proper food temperatures and follow safe food-handling practices. Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and food-service equipment. Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, equipment, counters, and kitchen surfaces. Properly store food and supplies and assist with inventory and stock rotation. Assist with receiving and organizing food deliveries. Complete required meal, temperature, inventory, and other food-service documentation. Follow all SHCS health, sanitation, food-safety, and workplace-safety procedures. Communicate effectively with Center Directors, classroom staff, and other members of the SHCS team. Assist with other food-service and center responsibilities as needed. What We're Looking For Our ideal candidate is someone who is: Dependable and punctual Organized and able to manage multiple tasks Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Committed to cleanliness and food safety Able to follow menus, recipes, portion requirements, and written instructions Attentive to children's food allergies and special dietary requirements Positive, professional, and willing to help wherever needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous food-service, kitchen, cafeteria, restaurant, or childcare food-service experience is preferred but not required. Knowledge of safe food preparation and sanitation practices is a plus. Must be able to meet all applicable SHCS health, training, background-clearance, and regulatory requirements. Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform the lifting, bending, reaching, and other physical activities associated with food preparation and kitchen responsibilities. Why Join SHCS?
