Responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of food. All cafeteria workers are responsible for keeping a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepares and serves food to students and staff under the direction of the head cook. 2. Ability to operate food preparation equipment such as mixers, choppers, steamers, dishwasher and other food service equipment. 3. Responsible for cleaning the food service equipment including hand washing pots and pans. 4. Responsible for keeping the serving lines and areas supplied with food. 5. Assists the head cook with receiving food and supplies and placing all items in appropriate storage areas. 6. Assists the head cook with planning, set up, and preparation of special catering events as directed by the head cook. 7. Ability to operate the cash register in the cafeteria. 8. Perform other duties as assigned by the head cook or building administrators.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma Previous experience with students preferred. Submission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the Pennsylvania School Code). Submission of a report of criminal history record from the Pennsylvania State Police (Section 111 of the Pennsylvania School Code). Submission of a clearance report from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in accordance with Act 151 of 1994. Submission of the FBI Criminal History Record in accordance with Act 114 of 2006 Submission of sexual misconduct/abuse disclosure release form in accordance with Act 168 of 2014. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to reach above and below the waist Ability to use fingers to pick, feel and grasp objects Ability to use both hands for repetitive motion Considerable bending and twisting of the body required Some stooping and squatting required Ability to lift and/or carry supplies and/or papers weighing no more than 50 lbs. Ability to stand for long periods of the workday
