Food Service Worker Job Description Join our team as a Food Service Worker where you will play a vital role in preparing and serving food items, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining a clean and safe dining environment. Responsibilities Prepare and portion food items according to recipes and established guidelines. Serve meals and beverages while providing friendly and professional customer service. Operate cash registers and point-of-sale systems accurately. Stock food stations, beverage areas, and dining supplies throughout shifts. Maintain clean and sanitary work areas, dining spaces, and kitchen equipment. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations. Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food products using FIFO methods. Support catering events, special functions, and campus activities as needed. Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment. Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and supervisors to ensure efficient service. Essential Skills Experience in food preparation and general food production. Proficiency in customer service and operating cash registers. Ability to maintain cleanliness and adhere to sanitation standards. Experience with dishwashing and kitchen equipment maintenance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience as a cook, chef, grill cook, or line cook is beneficial. Familiarity with meat cutting, janitorial duties, and housekeeping.
