Position Summary:

Meat Cutter (Jamaican & Caribbean-Style Cuts) Our full-service neighborhood butcher shop in North Lauderdale is looking for an experienced, reliable Meat Cutter skilled in Jamaican and Caribbean-style cuts. In this role, you will prepare traditional Caribbean cuts. These include goat and mutton chopped for curry, oxtail, cow foot, tripe, pig tail, and chicken cut for jerk and brown stew. You'll also break down beef, pork, lamb, goat, and poultry into retail cuts and prepare fresh fish and seafood, including whole fish for escovitch and steaming. You'll grind, trim, portion, and package products to our quality standards. You'll keep the display case well-stocked and organized, and you'll help customers with custom cuts, special orders, and cooking recommendations. You will be expected to follow all food safety, sanitation, and knife and equipment safety procedures, including keeping saws, grinders, and work areas clean. What we're looking for: Proven experience as a meat cutter or butcher, especially with Jamaican and Caribbean cuts Skilled with knives, band saws, grinders, and slicers Familiarity with the cuts and portions Caribbean customers expect A strong work ethic and attention to detail Friendly, customer-focused communication The ability to stand for long periods, work in cold environments, and lift up to 50 lbs Availability for flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Tipo de puesto: Tiempo completo, Medio tiempo
