Full Job Description Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Candy Maker to join our confectionery team. The ideal candidate will have experience in crafting high-quality caramel apples, gourmet chocolates, fudge and popcorn, with a keen eye for detail and a dedication to creating delicious, visually appealing confections. If you love working with sweet ingredients and take pride in artisanal candy-making, we'd love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, cook, and assemble caramel apples, ensuring consistent quality and presentation. Create a variety of gourmet chocolates, including fillings, enrobing, and decorating. Produce different flavors and textures of fudge, maintaining traditional recipes and experimenting with new flavors. Follow established recipes and safety standards to ensure product quality and safety. Operate and maintain candy-making equipment such as tempering machines, chocolate melters, and mixers. Decorate and package candies attractively for retail display and sale. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines. Collaborate with team members to develop new products and improve existing recipes. Keep inventory of ingredients and supplies, notifying management when stocks are low.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in candy or confectionery production preferred but not mandatory. We are willing to train the right person. Knowledge of candy-making techniques, particularly caramel, chocolate, and fudge. Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Creativity and an eye for presentation. Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods. Manual dexterity for handling delicate candies and decorations. Ability to lift heavy bags of ingredients and equipment.
