JOB SUMMARY
The Table Games Dealer Trainee participates in a paid, seven-week training program designed to prepare individuals for a career as a Table Games Dealer. Trainees will learn the fundamentals of dealing casino table games, gaming regulations, internal controls, chip handling, and exceptional guest service. This role requires a positive attitude, strong communication skills, professionalism, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment. Upon successful completion of Dealer School, trainees will audition for placement as a Part-Time Table Games Dealer based on business needs and performance.
HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY
Deliver great customer service by learning core games offered by Harrah's Joliet in a friendly and helpful manner with an upbeat/positive attitude Learn how to deal with games in accordance with internal controls, Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) regulations, and company policy Learn how to demonstrate an effective working knowledge of dealing with policies and gaming procedures Able to learn applicable departmental dealer efficiency metrics Learn protection and control of the game Learn how to exchange currency for gaming chips and pay or collect bets according to house rules in an accurate manner Always presents oneself as a credit to Caesars Entertainment and encourages others to do the same Presents oneself in a polished, professional, and service-minded way and encourages others to do the same Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
High School diploma or equivalent required. Must be 21 years of age Must possess a positive attitude and demonstrate effective teamwork skills. Excellent customer service skills are essential Must be able to perform basic math quickly Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team Must present a well-groomed appearance Well-developed interpersonal skills Must enjoy entertaining and communicating with the public; ability to speak distinctly and persuasively Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling employee conflicts or stressful customer interactions Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work independently Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time (minimum 4 hours) Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when addressing conflicts Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and respond to visual and aural cues Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs and have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises, and bright lights Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
