Job Description

Overview Splitsville at the Downtown Disney® District is a dynamic entertainment destination seeking to hire experienced Sushi Chefs. The two story, 40,000 square foot facility offers a unique combination of dining, drinks, and bowling. Our menu features fresh rolled sushi, gourmet burgers, hand tossed pizzas and chef driven offerings. The bar hosts hand crafted cocktails and local favorites. Splitsville is seeking individuals who have a desire to learn and grow with the company on Disney Property. Looking for enthusiastic personalities who possess the ability to have fun while also maintaining high quality standards. Candidates must be able to thrive in a high energy, high volume environment and possess a strong work ethic. Responsibilities Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese-inspired dishes with precision and artistry Maintain the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation in all work areas Develop new sushi recipes and menu items that reflect current trends and customer preferences Manage ingredient inventory, ensure freshness, and minimize waste through proper storage techniques Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during busy hours Educate and train junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and presentation standards Uphold consistency in taste, appearance, and portion sizes across all dishes served
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare and roll sushi, sashimi, and specialty rolls to recipe and presentation standards Properly handle, cut, and store raw fish and seafood following food safety guidelines Prepare sushi rice and maintain a clean, organized, fully stocked sushi station Work as a team in a multi dimensional operation in a high volume environment Maintain brand awareness and quality standards
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of two years of Sushi chef experience in a high volume restaurant Strong knife skills and knowledge of fish handling and sushi rice preparation Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards; California Food Handler Card or ability to obtain Ability to work quickly and accurately during peak volume Strong leadership skills Excellent communication skills
Pay:
$20.00 - $26.00 per hour
