Site Director and Culinary Services Director Job Summary :
The role of the Campus Chef is to fulfill the culinary needs of their campus, for residents, guests and events, and provide an inviting environment where residents can learn valuable life skills. Responsibilities include but are not limited to menu planning and food preparation, food/ equipment inventory and maintenance and supervision of youth.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Read, understand and support THCR Mission and Vision Statements.
Maintain a safe and clean environment at all times.
Ensure that food and supplies are available for interns and staff to prepare meals indicated on the menu.
Supervise the daily routine in the house, which center around mealtimes.
Ensure basic physical needs are being met, i.e., food and clean environment.
Assist each young person in achieving the goals set forth for by the childcare team, particularly pertaining to food preparation.
Set the tone for a nurturing atmosphere of learning and growth.
Provide training in areas of food preparation.
Be constantly alert of personal actions. These actions teach both directly and indirectly.
Know whereabouts of residents at all times.
Be able to fulfill the below assigned duties: o Food shopping and supply; money budgeted and accounted for. o Food Prep and cooking of meals. Set up and break down as needed for events and guests. o Clean workstation after cooking. o Set up for Fellowship Meals held on campus. o Neatly maintain food storage areas. o Rotate old stock. Date stored items that have expiration dates.
Uncompromising level of cleanliness as it pertains to the kitchen or storage area.
See to minor medical needs of youth if applicable. Refer all incidents to Staff Nurse.
Attend accredited Nutrition Classes and Food Safety Classes.
Help youth to become well rounded, physically, mentally socially and spirituality
Always have residents practice "SER" (Safe, Engaged, Respectful)
Comply with all safety guidelines as regulated by AR Dept. of Health
Wear uniform once provided.
Attend all staff meetings.
Any other reasonable duties assigned by the Program Director, Culinary Director or Executive Director.

Able to perform all TCI protective interventions
Able to navigate campus and respond quickly to crisis situations
Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Able to prepare and serve meals.
Able to carry and lift up to 30 pounds.

State of Louisiana License Education/Experience :
High School Diploma or GED. (Prefer some college/bachelor's degree.) Keep and maintain Food Handlers Certificate
TCI certification prior to employment
Culinary experience or education
Minimum of 5 years' experience in culinary Supervisory experience a plus
First aid and CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain one
Required Background :
FBI Fingerprinting
Louisiana Abuse Maltreatment Registry check
Out-of-State Abuse/Maltreatment Clearances as applicable
Drug Testing
Any other background checks required by the state of
