Chef Aaron Cozadd is looking to add members to his back of the house kitchen team. Chef Cozadd owned Vigilante Kitchen in Detroit where he placed #7 on the Top 10 Best New Restaurants list from the Detroit Free Press & he was awarded the rare Chef of the Year from them for his commitment to rebranding kitchen culture into a positive environment. He's looking for people who have a good work ethic, are reliable, passionate about working in a from scratch kitchen, & most importantly are committed to maintaining the positive kitchen culture he strives to uphold. Sous Chef - This position is ideal for an experienced line cook, lead cook, or current sous chef who is ready to take on more responsibility and grow into a leadership role. Our Sous Chef works closely with the Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain consistency and quality, support and develop the BOH team, and help ensure smooth service from prep through close. Responsibilities Lead and support the kitchen team during prep and service Help manage the line and maintain an organized, efficient flow during busy services Ensure dishes are prepared consistently according to recipes, plating standards, and quality expectations Delegate prep and daily responsibilities to BOH employees Train and develop line cooks and prep cooks Maintain cleanliness, organization, food safety, and sanitation standards Monitor prep levels, product quality, rotation, and proper storage Assist with receiving and checking deliveries Help identify product shortages and communicate ordering needs Reduce waste and help maintain appropriate food and labor costs Assist with inventory and ordering as needed Help troubleshoot issues during service and communicate effectively with FOH leadership Hold team members accountable while maintaining a professional and respectful kitchen environment Open and/or close the kitchen and oversee BOH operations when the Chef is not present Previous Sous Chef experience is preferred but not required. We are open to an experienced Lead Cook or Line Cook who has demonstrated strong leadership skills and is ready to take the next step in their career. Line Cooks - Our kitchen prepares a creative, scratch-made menu with a focus on quality, consistency, and bold flavors. Whether you're an experienced line cook or someone looking to continue developing your skills in a professional kitchen, we're looking for people who want to learn, grow, and be part of a strong BOH team. Responsibilities Set up and maintain a clean, organized station Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and restaurant standards Maintain consistency in portioning, cooking, seasoning, and plating Complete daily prep for your station Communicate with other stations and kitchen leadership during service Work efficiently and maintain quality during high-volume periods Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures Properly label, date, rotate, and store products Maintain appropriate prep and product levels throughout the shift Assist with receiving, stocking, and general kitchen organization Complete opening and closing duties Keep your station and surrounding kitchen areas clean throughout the shift Assist other members of the kitchen team when needed
