Love cooking—and sharing it with people? The Farmers Table Cooking School is seeking a personable, organized Lead Chef & Cooking Instructor to lead hands-on cooking classes and private events at our established school in the Town of Livingston, near Madison, Mississippi. Since 2014, Farmers Table has brought people together through food. Our guests come for date nights, celebrations, corporate team building, and the enjoyment of preparing and sharing a meal. We're looking for a chef who can make the kitchen welcoming, teach with confidence, and deliver delicious food. The opportunity You'll work directly with the owners to lead our culinary program, develop menus, and create memorable guest experiences. The school's target schedule is approximately 5-10 events weekly, with owner-provided prep support initially and additional chef support added as business grows. Event assignments and prep responsibilities will be planned together. What you'll do Lead engaging, hands-on cooking classes and private events. Explain techniques clearly to guests with a wide range of cooking experience. Develop appealing menus suited to our class format and audience. Maintain organized recipes, ingredient quantities, shopping lists, and prep plans. Manage purchasing, inventory, portions, and food costs. Coordinate kitchen and event support staff. Maintain a clean, safe, organized kitchen. Help train additional instructors and support staff. Who we're looking for A culinary professional with experience as a chef, sous chef, caterer, private chef, or in a comparable role. A warm, confident communicator who enjoys working with people. Someone dependable, prepared, and comfortable taking responsibility. Strong cooking skills, sound kitchen judgment, and attention to detail. A collaborative approach and willingness to participate in prep, setup, and closing. Availability for evening and weekend events. Teaching experience is welcome, but the ability to connect with guests and explain what you're doing matters most. Culinary education is a plus; relevant experience is valued.
