We're expanding, and we're looking for a Sous Chef who takes the craft seriously, runs a clean and calm line, and wants to grow with us as we do. The role You'll work directly with the Executive Chef to run day-to-day kitchen operations: leading the line during service, developing cooks, contributing to menu design, and keeping ordering, inventory, and sanitation tight. You're part of the management team, which means you help make decisions, support them once they're made, and present a united front to the staff. Beyond the day-to-day, Maeve's also offers catering packages for pick-up. Catering experience is a real plus here. If you've prepped, portioned, packed, and timed large orders alongside a busy service, we want to hear about it. What you'll do Own food quality and consistency on every plate that leaves the kitchen Run service in the Executive Chef's absence and supervise every back-of-house station Train, schedule, and coach cooks and dish staff; identify skill gaps and close them Assist with ordering, inventory, cost control, and equipment needs Contribute to menu development, specials, and catering menus Help plan, prep, and execute pick-up catering orders alongside regular service Hold the line on safety, sanitation, and health department standards, including preventative maintenance and equipment care Write and enforce kitchen policies and procedures with the rest of the management team What we're looking for Required 1+ years in a high-volume restaurant kitchen; 2+ years or prior sous chef/lead experience preferred Strong technical cooking skills and the ability to work any station Proven ability to train and lead a BOH team with respect and accountability Working knowledge of health code, food handling, and storage procedures (ServSafe Manager certification a plus, or willingness to obtain) Comfortable with basic kitchen math, inventory, and POS/ordering software Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays A plus Catering or large-order/event prep experience Experience contributing to menu design and costing Multi-unit or opening experience What you get Competitive salary based on experience Health benefits Paid time off 401(k) with company matching Meal discount Real growth path in a company that's expanding A management team that backs its people and does things the right way How we hire Complete our short application and we'll respond within a week.
