Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing authentic sushi with precision and artistry, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your sushi-making expertise in a dynamic and customer-focused environment. Duties Prepare sushi rice to the correct consistency and flavor profile, ensuring it is ready for assembly. Cut and prepare fish and other ingredients for sushi preparation, maintaining freshness and presentation standards. Assemble various types of sushi with attention to detail, presentation, and quality. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi preparation area in compliance with safety and hygiene regulations. Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency. Assist in inventory management by monitoring supplies and notifying management of stock levels. Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent customer service and uphold the restaurant's standards. Requirements At least one year of experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a professional kitchen environment. Proficiency in prepping sushi rice and cutting fish for prep work. Knowledge of various sushi types, ingredients, and preparation techniques. Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and food safety practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining quality standards. Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude toward collaboration.
