We believe nutritious, thoughtfully prepared food is an important part of creating an environment that supports that work. This is more than a traditional kitchen position. Because you are preparing meals for the same clients throughout their stay, you have the opportunity to get to know the people you are serving, see their progress, and experience firsthand the impact that good food, consistency, and genuine hospitality can have. We are looking for someone who takes pride in preparing high-quality, nutritious meals while maintaining a clean, organized, and professionally managed kitchen. Maintain appropriate portion sizes, food quality, presentation, and consistency. Complete food preparation and meal service efficiently and on schedule. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen throughout each shift. Complete daily kitchen cleanup, including dishes, cooking equipment, counters, appliances, floors, and food-preparation areas. Follow proper food handling, sanitation, storage, labeling, and temperature-control procedures. Monitor food inventory and communicate purchasing and restocking needs. Properly receive, rotate, store, and organize food and kitchen supplies to minimize waste. Help maintain kitchen equipment and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns. Follow all health department, food safety, and organizational standards. Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and the broader Chateau clinical and operations teams. Interact with clients in a warm, respectful, and professional manner while maintaining appropriate boundaries and confidentiality. Assist with other kitchen and food-service responsibilities as needed. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who: Has professional cooking or food-service experience; residential, healthcare, hospitality, or similar experience is a plus. Takes pride in preparing food that is both nutritious and enjoyable. Is dependable, organized, and able to manage responsibilities independently. Understands the importance of cleanliness, food safety, and an orderly kitchen. Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively. Is comfortable working in a residential mental health and wellness environment. Brings a positive, respectful attitude to interactions with clients and coworkers. Can manage multiple priorities while maintaining consistency and attention to detail. Why Join Chateau? At Chateau, your work has a visible impact. You aren't simply preparing meals for people you'll never meet—you become part of the environment that supports our clients during an important period in their lives.
