WORTHY Breath & Body Location:
Berkeley, CA (on-site)
Schedule:
30 hours/week, including some evenings and weekend coverage Reports to: COO, with a direct line to the CEO for sales and marketing
Compensation:
$25-$30/hour plus Commissions and studio memberships at WORTHY Self-Care Studio and WORTHY Breath & Body. About Us WORTHY Breath & Body is a neuroscience-based movement and breathwork studio in Berkeley. Our classes are built on the
WORTHY Method:
breathwork, infrared heat, multiple modalities, neuroscience as the foundation, and community. Everything we do is in service of helping people regulate and expand their nervous system capacity, and feel at home in their bodies. The Role This is a hybrid sales and operations role, and both halves matter equally. On the sales side, you are the first human a prospective client meets and the person who turns a curious drop-in into a committed member. You'll own the pre-sale client journey end to end: responding to inquiries, guiding people toward the right class and membership, and working our sales pipeline with consistency and warmth. On the operations side, you are responsible for the studio running beautifully. That means a spotless space, fresh towels, stocked amenities, and a front desk experience that feels like walking into a great hotel. Nothing is beneath this role — you'll fold laundry and close a membership sale in the same shift. What You'll Do Sales & Client Growth Own the pre-sale client journey from first inquiry through membership conversion Work our sales pipeline daily — triage new leads, follow the outreach cadence, and log every touchpoint accurately Convert Unlimited Intro Week clients into ongoing members through consultative, needs-based conversations Conduct new client intakes and match people to the right classes, instructors, and membership tier Track progress against monthly sales goals and report on the scorecard Re-engage lapsed and at-risk clients before they churn Client Experience & Communication Manage all incoming email inquiries with fast, warm, well-written responses Staff the front desk: greet clients by name, handle check-ins, resolve issues on the spot Handle billing questions, membership changes, cancellations, and account issues in our booking platform (Mariana Tek) Represent the WORTHY voice in every interaction — grounded, welcoming, never pushy Studio Operations Maintain an immaculate studio: cleaning, resetting the space between classes, restocking amenities and retail Manage the towel program — laundering, folding, rotation, inventory Open and/or close the studio, including equipment checks and readiness for the first class Track supply inventory and place orders before things run out Flag maintenance issues early and coordinate repairs Support instructors so they can walk in and teach without friction Events & Community Support the Events & Retention Manager on workshops, community events, and seasonal programming Help with setup, day-of hosting, and follow-up outreach to attendees Promote events to the client base through the pipeline and in-studio conversations What We're Looking For Required Hospitality background — hotel, restaurant, spa, or a similar service environment where standards are high and details are non-negotiable Exceptional command of written and spoken English; you can write a client email that is clear, warm, and error-free without a second draft Demonstrated sales ability and genuine comfort asking for the sale Strong operational instincts — you notice the smudge on the mirror, the low towel stack, the sign that's crooked Highly organized with real follow-through; nothing falls through the cracks with you Comfortable with software: booking platforms, spreadsheets, email, Slack Available for some evenings and weekends Able to lift up to 30 lbs and be on your feet for the length of a shift Nice to Have Experience in a boutique fitness, wellness, or membership-based business Familiarity with Mariana Tek or a comparable booking platform Personal practice in Pilates, yoga, breathwork, or strength training Understanding of trauma-informed or nervous-system-informed client care Who Thrives Here You genuinely like people. You can read a room and adjust. You're as comfortable having a real conversation about someone's stress and burnout as you are reconciling a membership billing error. You take ownership rather than waiting to be told. And you understand that in a small studio, the quality of the experience is the product. To Apply Send your resume and a short note about why this role interests you to . In your note, tell us about a time you turned a first-time customer into a regular. WORTHY Breath & Body is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a team that reflects the community we serve.
