About The Little Bohemian The Little Bohemian is a brand new upscale independent boutique inn in Occidental, in the heart of West Sonoma County. It is an intimate setting designed to feel more like a beloved local hideaway than a traditional hotel: relaxed, design-forward, warm and a little unexpected. Guests come for the rooms, pool, hot tubs, sauna and beautiful surroundings—but just as much for the feeling of being somewhere special where they can disconnect. Every guest interaction matters. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys people, notices the little things, takes pride in beautiful spaces, and is comfortable proactively taking ownership rather than waiting to be told what needs to be done. About Russian River Vacation Homes Russian River Vacation Homes is a family-owned and operated vacation rental management company based in downtown Guerneville. For more than 40 years, we have cared for distinctive homes and welcomed guests throughout western Sonoma County. Our close-knit team brings warmth, humor and local knowledge to our work, along with a serious commitment to professionalism, responsive service and genuine care for our guests, homeowners and community. We are now bringing that experience to an exciting new chapter as the management team behind The Little Bohemian, a boutique inn in Occidental. We are looking for a versatile hospitality professional who will serve as the inn's primary on-site presence while also contributing to the broader RRVH operation. This is an opportunity to join a trusted local company, help shape a new hospitality experience from the ground up and become an important part of two closely connected teams. The Person We're Looking For We are looking for a dynamic innkeeper with warmth, personality, judgment, curiosity and a strong sense of place—someone who can make a guest feel welcome without being overly formal or scripted. This is not a traditional front-desk job. The person in this role will be the primary on-site face and personality of The Little Bohemian and will have an outsized influence on how guests experience the property. Warm and naturally hospitable. You enjoy making people feel comfortable, seen and taken care of. Observant and detail-oriented. You notice when something is out of place, unfinished, worn or simply not as it should be. Independent and accountable. You see a problem and take ownership of solving it rather than waiting for instructions. Calm under pressure. You can handle an unhappy guest, a maintenance issue or an unexpected situation without losing your composure. Personable and authentic. You can connect with guests naturally and represent The Little Bohemian without sounding scripted or corporate. Proud of your surroundings. You care about design, cleanliness, presentation and the small details that make a place memorable. Curious about the local area. You want to know the best places to eat, hike, swim, drink, shop and explore so you can make genuinely useful recommendations. Creative and digitally comfortable. You can recognize a good story or photo and are comfortable contributing to social media and other content. Flexible and hands-on. In a small property, everyone pitches in—from helping with laundry during a quiet period to moving a piece of furniture or solving an unexpected guest need. Position Summary The Little Bohemian Innkeeper is the primary on-site representative of the property and the first point of contact for guests during scheduled coverage. The role combines guest experience, day-to-day property operations, housekeeping coordination, vendor and maintenance coordination, inventory management, local hospitality and light marketing/content support. The successful candidate will take ownership of the property during their shifts and will be expected to use good judgment, solve problems independently and communicate important issues to management. The Little Bohemian guest and property needs are the primary role. Additional Russian River Vacation Homes (RRVH) responsibilities are such that they allow Little Bohemian needs to take priority. The Little Bohemian — Guest Experience & Operations Serve as the primary on-site Innkeeper and guest contact during scheduled hours. Welcome guests and coordinate arrivals, departures, special occasions and guest requests. Provide thoughtful, personalized recommendations for restaurants, hikes, wineries, breweries, beaches, shops and other local experiences. Create a relaxed, warm and attentive guest environment that feels consistent with the Little Bohemian brand. Handle guest questions and issues with good judgment and follow through until they are resolved. Conduct daily property walkthroughs and proactively identify maintenance, safety, cleanliness or presentation issues. Oversee daily room readiness and coordinate closely with housekeeping to ensure rooms are properly cleaned, stocked and presented before arrival. Inspect guest rooms and common areas and maintain Little Bohemian's standards for cleanliness, design and presentation. Monitor the pool, hot tubs, sauna, courtyard, grounds and other guest amenities and escalate or coordinate issues as needed. Oversee part-time and seasonal hotel employees by helping train and onboard new team members, coordinating daily assignments and shift coverage, communicating service and property standards, monitoring work quality, providing day-to-day guidance and feedback, and escalating performance or staffing concerns to management. Coordinate maintenance technicians, vendors and other service providers and communicate status to management. Maintain appropriate inventory of linens, guest amenities, beverages, operating supplies and other property materials. Assist with laundry and other hands-on operating tasks during slower periods when needed. Maintain an organized daily operating log and communicate material issues, guest feedback and follow-up items to management. Follow established procedures for safety, emergencies, guest privacy and property security. RRVH Operations Support Provide operational support to Russian River Vacation Homes (RRVH) when Little Bohemian does not require immediate on-site attention. Support the Russian River Vacation Homes Maintenance Team by updating property information and completing property buildouts in our maintenance software. Review non-urgent open, overdue and incomplete operational tasks and assist with appropriate follow-up. Update and maintain property listings across OTAs and other booking channels. Assist with administrative and special operational projects as needed. Provide guest communication support for RRVH when appropriate, with The Little Bohemian the first priority. Marketing, Content & Reputation Marketing is a supporting responsibility of the role and crosses between both businesses. The goal is not to make this person a marketing director, but to have someone on the ground who can capture the personality of the property and destination and help keep our digital presence fresh and authentic. Monitor guest reviews and online reputation for The Little Bohemian and RRVH and draft timely, professional responses. Identify recurring themes in guest feedback and communicate opportunities for improvement. Capture property, guest-experience, destination and seasonal photography and video. Create and coordinate authentic social media content from the property and surrounding area. Maintain organized photo, video and marketing content libraries. Help keep website, OTA and other marketing content current and accurate. Assist with seasonal promotions, packages, specials and email marketing. Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses and identify opportunities for cross-promotion and partnerships. Create content highlighting local businesses, events, activities and the Russian River / West Sonoma County destination. What Success Looks Like A successful Innkeeper will become someone management can trust to run the property well when they are not there. Guests should feel genuinely welcomed, rooms and common areas should be consistently ready and beautiful, problems should be identified before they become guest complaints, and communication with management should be timely and clear. Most importantly, we want someone who treats Little Bohemian as a genuinely special place—not simply as a workplace. The right person will care about the details, know our guests, know our neighbors and take pride in making the property better every day. Ideal Experience & Qualifications Prior experience in hospitality, guest services, boutique hotels, inns, restaurants, events or a similarly guest-facing environment. Strong hospitality and customer-service skills. Highly organized with excellent attention to detail. Comfortable working independently and prioritizing competing needs. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable with property-management, booking and task-management technology. Comfortable creating social media content and basic photography/video; stronger content creation skills are a plus. Experience with reputation management, email marketing, photography, content creation or hospitality marketing is desirable. Able to interact professionally and warmly with guests, vendors, housekeepers, local business partners and the RRVH team. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred. Flexible and willing to assist wherever needed in a small hospitality operation. Role Priorities When priorities compete, the order is: 1. Guest safety and urgent guest needs 2. Guest experience and room readiness 3. Property condition, amenities and day-to-day operations 4. Housekeeping, maintenance and vendor coordination 5. RRVH operational responsibilities 6.
