Our Front Desk staff shape that experience. As a daily point of connection for members, families, and guests, you'll help people feel known, supported, and comfortable finding their place at the Y. We're looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, takes initiative, and brings warmth and care to every interaction. How You'll Make an Impact Create a welcoming experience. Greet people warmly, learn names, and help everyone feel comfortable—from their first visit to their daily workout. Build relationships that keep people connected. Get to know members, ask about their interests, and connect them with programs, services, and people that support their goals. Help prospective members find their place. Lead personalized conversations and tours that show how a Y membership can fit their lives. Make each interaction helpful and positive. Listen closely, answer questions, and respond to concerns with patience, care, and follow-through—in person and over the phone. Make getting involved easy. Assist with memberships, program registration, account questions, and scholarship information with accuracy and respect. Support a welcoming, well-run Y. Work alongside the membership team to keep information current, complete daily administrative tasks, and respond to member needs. Bring our values to life. Demonstrate caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in how you serve others and work with your team. What You'll Bring A warm, approachable personality and a genuine interest in people. Strong communication and listening skills, with the ability to stay calm and helpful during busy or challenging moments. Confidence starting conversations, asking thoughtful questions, and recommending memberships and programs based on individual needs. An inclusive mindset and the ability to connect with people of different ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Attention to detail and comfort learning technology for membership accounts and registrations. Flexibility, initiative, and a willingness to support your team as needs change. At least one year of customer service or member relations experience. Availability to work a variety of hours, including at least one weekend day or evening per month. Completion of CPR/AED certification and New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire. Why This Role Matters People join the Y for many reasons. The relationships they build help them stay.
