Full-Time Position Summary The Healthcare Liaison serves as Ensign's dedicated hospital relationship and transition-of-care resource to partner with University of Utah Health.
This position is responsible for:
strengthening partnerships between University of Utah Health care teams and Ensign-affiliated skilled nursing facilities while supporting market leaders, facility admissions teams, marketers, administrators, and clinical teams. functions as a support resource, consultant, and relationship builder for both the hospital and Ensign facilities. is not intended to replace, direct, or create barriers between facility admissions and marketing teams and their referral sources. Instead, this position enhances existing relationships, helps remove obstacles to placement, identifies opportunities for growth, and improves communication and coordination throughout the post-acute continuum. This role serves as Ensign's dedicated presence within the University of Utah hospital(s), providing market-level support while helping facilities maximize referral opportunities, improve care transitions, and strengthen strategic partnerships throughout University of Utah Health. Primary Responsibilities Support Facility Admissions and Marketing Teams Act as a market-level support resource for admissions directors, marketers, administrators, and clinical teams throughout participating Ensign facilities. Assist facility teams in navigating complex referrals, placement challenges, and discharge barriers. Support, rather than replace, existing admissions and marketing efforts. Facilitate communication and collaboration between hospital staff and facility teams when needed. Ensure facility admissions and marketing teams remain the primary owners of their referral relationships and admission decisions. Help coordinate market-wide opportunities that may benefit multiple facilities. Hospital Relationship Development Develop and maintain strong relationships with University of Utah Health case managers, case manager assistants, social workers, discharge planners, physicians, directors, and care coordination leadership. Maintain a consistent presence within University of Utah Health facilities. Serve as a trusted resource regarding skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and post-acute care options. Promote awareness of Ensign facility capabilities, specialty services, outcomes, and availability. Strategic Growth & Opportunity Identification Monitor hospital referral patterns, discharge trends, service-line growth opportunities, and emerging patient populations. Identify new opportunities for Ensign facilities to better serve University of Utah Health patients. Collaborate with market leaders and facilities on strategies to improve referral conversion, response times, and patient outcomes. Provide ongoing market intelligence regarding competitors, changing hospital initiatives, and care management priorities. Assist leadership in identifying gaps in service offerings, specialty programs, or care pathways that could create additional growth opportunities. Market Intelligence & Trend Analysis Track referral trends and volume changes across hospital units and service lines. Identify emerging needs within the hospital that may impact facility operations or census growth. Share actionable insights with market leaders and facility teams. Assist with the development of strategies that align Ensign facilities with changing healthcare delivery models and discharge planning initiatives. Care Transition Coordination Support efficient and effective patient transitions from the hospital to appropriate Ensign facilities. Assist in resolving communication barriers that may delay patient placement. Work collaboratively with case management teams and facility admissions departments to ensure timely follow-up and coordination. Promote positive experiences for patients, families, and hospital partners during the discharge process. Key Success Indicators A successful Healthcare Liaison will: Strengthen Ensign's partnership with University of Utah Health. Support admissions and marketing teams in achieving census and growth goals. Create new referral opportunities and service line partnerships. Identify and communicate meaningful market trends and competitive insights. Improve collaboration between hospital personnel and facility teams. Increase referral conversion opportunities without disrupting existing facility relationships. Be viewed as a trusted resource by hospital staff, market leaders, admissions teams, and facility leadership. Help position Ensign as the preferred post-acute provider for University of Utah Health patients. Position Philosophy The Healthcare Liaison is a support role designed to enhance the effectiveness of Ensign's market leaders, admissions teams, and marketers. This position serves as an extension of facility efforts, helping create opportunities, strengthen relationships, improve communication, and identify strategic growth initiatives within the University of Utah Health system. The role does not replace facility admissions or marketing responsibilities but works collaboratively to help all success of market partners.
Pay:
$64,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
