CLASS TITLE
COOK/BAKER
(Cafeteria Cook)
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School diploma or equivalent
2. Must meet the health requirements of the State and the
Montgomery County Board of Education.
3. Must meet Physical Performance Requirements
4. Such additional qualifications as the Superintendent or Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Principal/Director of Food Service/Cafeteria Manager
JOB GOAL
To prepare and serve students and faculty attractive and nutritious meals in a clean and pleasant environment.
BASIC FUNCTION
Prepare, cook, bake, and serve a variety of foods in quantity at an
assigned school site; assist in other food preparation duties as directed; maintain facilities in a clean and sanitary condition; train and provide work direction to others.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.
Prepares food according to a planned and tested menu, uniform recipes, and determines if the finished product is of the best quality, both in flavor and appearance, before it is served.
Checks food shipments received at school, in the absence of the manager, signing invoices only after each order has been verified.
Aids the manager in maintaining a correct monthly inventory.
Confers with the manager and, if necessary, with the Director of Food and Nutrition Service, regarding any personnel problems or accidents occurring in the kitchen or cafeteria.
Supervises the daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment, and the washing and sterilizing of all dishes, silverware, and utensils.
Prepares and bakes food for special events as needed; assists at banquets or special events District-wide as required by supervisor.
Assists at any cafeteria District-wide when needed.
Participates in staff development and training activities as directed.
Lifts and/or carries food supplies and small equipment. Other physical demands may be required, such as moving tables and chairs.
Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Principal, Director of Food Service, or the Superintendent.
TERM OF SERVICE
Salary and workdays/jobs to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with
provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.

Job Requirements
