Join the Shepherd of Grace Dietary team as a Prep Cook and help support the nutritional wellbeing of the individuals we serve. In this rewarding role, you'll prepare high-quality meals, maintain safe food-handling practices, and contribute to a positive dining experience every day. Prep Cook Responsibilities Prepare and serve meals according to established menus to meet tenants' dietary and nutritional needs Assist with ordering food and supplies, ensuring the kitchen remains well-stocked and organized Manage food inventory, including sorting, labeling, and dating items for proper rotation and safety Maintain a clean and sanitary food production area, following proper sanitization and waste disposal procedures Update and maintain tenant menu boards to ensure clear, accurate communication Support the Food Service Manager by assisting with the supervision and coordination of dietary staff Prep Cook Benefits Generous Paid Time Off (Part-Time/Full-Time Eligible) Earned Safe & Sick Time Off FREE Option for Health, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance for Employee (Full-Time Eligible) 401K with Company Match Employee Referral Bonus Tuition Reimbursement & Scholarship Opportunities Qualifications Prep Cook Qualifications Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing Previous experience in food preparation or work with the elderly preferred Ability to work as a team member and resolve problems constructively One year of instructional food service or equivalent food prep/cooking experience Basic math and computer skills
