CHI St. Alexius Health is a regional health network with a tertiary hospital in Bismarck, the system also consists of critical access hospitals (CAHs) in Carrington, Dickinson, Devils Lake, Garrison, Turtle Lake, Washburn and Williston and numerous clinics and outpatient services. CHI St. Alexius Health manages four CAHs in North Dakota - Elgin, Linton, and Wishek, as well as Mobridge Regional Medical Center in Mobridge, S.D. CHI St. Alexius Health offers a comprehensive line of inpatient and outpatient medical services, including: a Level II Trauma Center, primary and specialty physician clinics, home health and hospice services, durable medical equipment services, a fitness and human performance center and ancillary services throughout western and central North Dakota. CHI St. Alexius Health is part of CommonSpirit Health, a nonprofit, Catholic health system dedicated to advancing health for all people. It was created in February 2019 through the alignment of Catholic Health Initiatives and Dignity Health. Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Cook, you will help ensure patients and staff receive nutritious and satisfying meals so they can support their health and enhance their overall hospital experience. Every day you will contribute to various aspects of food service operations within a fast-paced hospital environment. You will be expected to primarily focus on food preparation and cooking, but also flexibly assist with tray service, patient-facing interactions, and other department support duties as needed. To be successful in this role, you must thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, demonstrate strong flexibility, and possess a commitment to providing excellent service.
Food Preparation & Adaptation:
Prepares and serves food according to menu guidelines and dietary requirements, utilizing various kitchen equipment, and modifies preparations for food allergies
Food Safety & Temperature Control:
Adheres to healthcare foodservice regulations, including monitoring and maintaining proper food temperatures during cooking, holding, and storage
Preventing Contamination & Hygiene:
Actively avoids cross-contamination of foods and strictly follows personal hygiene requirements to ensure food safety
Organized Storage:
Maintains proper labeling and storage of all food items, equipment, and machinery
Sanitation & Cleanliness:
Performs washing and cleaning duties to ensure high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas
Equipment Operation:
Utilizes a range of kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, fryers, steamers, stove tops, and grills during food preparation Job Requirements Required One (1) year food service experience High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
