Job Description

Description Lead Cook We are currently hiring for one of our clients who specializes in substance use rehabilitation and residential community support services. This position is responsible for preparing and executing health-focused meals for a residential community in Brooklyn, NY. You will work onsite to deliver high-quality, nutritious food while maintaining strict safety standards and facility compliance.
Requirements & Responsibilities:
Experience:
Foundational experience running a commercial or residential facility kitchen, at least 2 years.
Daily Meal Prep:
Hands-on execution of bulk meal preparation, including standard cooking duties such as chopping, stirring, sautéing, and portioning dishes.
Kitchen Management:
Management of daily kitchen operations, including menu planning, ordering fresh ingredients, and scheduling meal service to meet the facility's needs.
Certifications & Safety:
Strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards; a ServSafe certification is a plus.
Inventory Control:
Comfort tracking inventory using kitchen scales and measuring tools to ensure accuracy and cost control.
Equipment Operations:
Safe handling and operation of commercial kitchen tools and machinery, such as food processors and slicers.
Organization:
Strong organizational skills to manage tasks effectively during busy shifts, ensuring timely meal preparation and service.
Communication:
Good communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with the kitchen team.
Mindset:
An eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a structured, community-focused environment.
