Work Location:

In-person role based in Windham, NY.

Seasonal Position:

This role is available for the winter season.

Pay:

20 per hour

Anticipated Start Dates:

Weather-dependent, typically beginning in early December.

Scheduling Expectations:

Part Time evening shifts on weekends and holiday are needed.

Conditions:

This role is primarily performed indoors in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Position Summary:

The Prep Cook prepares food items according to recipes and portion standards, maintains a clean and safe workspace, and supports overall kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Follow food safety, sanitation, and handling standards. Operate kitchen equipment including grills, fryers, and steam tables. Set up and stock prep stations. Prepare fruits, vegetables, sandwiches, salads, soups, meats, and desserts. Clean kitchen equipment as needed. Store, receive, and rotate food inventory. Assist with special events and inventory tasks.

Qualifications:

Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience. Strong organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of food safety regulations and commercial kitchen equipment. Ability to follow directions accurately. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, busy environment. Friendly and professional with staff and guests.

Physical Requirements:

Lift and move up to 50 lbs. Stand and walk for up to 10 hours. Navigate uneven, snow- and ice-covered surfaces. Climb stairs and ladders. Regularly bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull.
