About Florida Boat Detailing Florida Boat Detailing is a growing mobile boat-detailing company founded by two friends with a passion for boats and exceptional workmanship. With more than 25 years of combined experience, we treat every boat as if it were our own. We are looking for an experienced Lead Boat Detailer who takes pride in producing high-quality work and can help lead a crew through the successful completion of each project. This is a hands-on position. You will work alongside the crew while helping organize the job, maintain quality standards, train less-experienced detailers, and ensure each boat is completed correctly and efficiently. Responsibilities Lead and work alongside a boat-detailing crew. Review job expectations and help organize the crew at the beginning of each project. Assign tasks based on employee experience and job requirements. Wash, wax, polish, compound, and protect boat surfaces. Properly operate rotary buffers, dual-action polishers, and other detailing equipment. Identify oxidation, staining, surface damage, and other areas requiring special attention. Train and coach apprentices and less-experienced detailers. Monitor the crew's workmanship, productivity, and use of company equipment. Inspect completed work and correct quality issues before the boat is presented to the customer. Communicate job progress, challenges, supply needs, and potential delays to management. Help protect customers' boats, property, and surrounding areas during the detailing process. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional worksite. Follow all company procedures and safety requirements. Represent Florida Boat Detailing professionally while interacting with customers, marina staff, and coworkers. You May Be a Good Fit If You have professional boat-detailing or comparable marine-detailing experience. You are confident using buffers, polishers, compounds, waxes, and marine cleaning products. You are comfortable leading employees while also performing hands-on work. You take personal responsibility for the quality of the crew's finished work. You are dependable, punctual, professional, and organized. You can give clear directions and respectfully correct employees when necessary. You are a strong problem-solver who can adjust when job conditions change. You are willing to put in the time and effort required to complete a job properly. You are unreliable or frequently late. You are not comfortable working outdoors in Florida weather. Job Requirements Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Prior professional boat-detailing experience is strongly preferred. Leadership or crew-lead experience is preferred. Ability to safely operate boat-detailing tools and equipment. Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks, including operating a buffer, hand-waxing, washing, bending, reaching, and working on your feet throughout the day. Ability to work outdoors in heat, humidity, and changing weather conditions. Ability to travel between job locations during the workday. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Work Area We perform mobile work throughout Palm Coast, Daytona Beach, New Smyrna Beach, Orlando, and occasionally Cocoa Beach. Most of our work is located between Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach. Compensation $18-$25 per hour , depending on boat-detailing experience, leadership ability, technical skill, reliability, and overall qualifications.
