Dishwasher Reports to: General Manger, Kitchen Manager, Shift Leader Humble Sea's mission is crafting unique experiences and approachable innovative beers for every person on the planet. Job Overview The dishwasher supports guest experience by ensuring prompt and adequate cleanliness of dishes and cooking utensils, and overall site cleanliness. Associates of Humble Sea act with honesty and integrity, conduct themselves professionally, and embrace everyone. This is a non-exempt hourly position full-time or part-time. Scheduled hours my vary based on demand. Essential Functions
  • Organize dirty dishes.
  • Properly dispose of waste including potentially hazardous waste such as raw meat, compost, and recycling.
  • Properly and safely handle dangerous and corrosive chemicals such as soaps, degreasers, bleach.
  • Clean, wash, and sanitize plate ware, glassware, and silverware.
  • Clean, wash, scrub, and sanitize kitchen cooking utensils, sheet pans, hotel pans, fry baskets, pots.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly dish room.
  • Restock dishes in designated areas.
  • Return clean dishes to the FOH and help organized dishes in the right area.
  • Organize back stock dishes.
  • Communicate with kitchen management when cleaning materials are running low.
  • Help with any food prep tasks assigned by kitchen management.
  • Detail cleaning as needed and as requested including but not limited to walls, floors bathrooms, windows, equipment.
  • Polish dry all washed items.
  • Clean, reset, refill dishwasher periodically.
  • Use chemicals and tools to ensure dishes are cleaned and polished adequately.
  • Assist in cleaning projects, deep cleaning, cleaning up any necessary mess including, FOH, bathrooms, back areas, etc. This is not an all-encompassing list of duties and responsibilities associates may from time to time participate in additional tasks and duties assigned by management as needed for successful dish room and kitchen operations. Requirements
  • Follow all meal and rest break period state requirements.
  • Effectively communicate with management and fellow.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and under high pressure circumstances.
  • Safely handle potentially dangerous chemicals.
  • Understand direction and safe handling labels and procedures.
  • ServeSafe food handling certification.
  • Punctuality.
  • Communicate with kindness and respect with guests and team members.
  • Must work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Work and physical environment This position may require working in a small space with high temperatures and hot cooking surfaces. This position may require working late hours, weeknights, and weekends as well as holidays. Working under high stress circumstances may from time to time. Skid and slip resistant foot wear and appropriate clothing may be required. This position requires being in a fixed position for extended periods of time. Working under hot temperatures near hot cooking surfaces. Walking into low temperature coolers. It may require handling sharp objects such as cooking utensils and knives. Handle frozen food, raw food and seafood. It may be required to handle difficult employees, guests, and assists with any other critical operational demand. Lifting up to 50 pounds may be necessary. Position self up high, reach low, bend back and knees, enter and exit coolers. Skid and slip resistant foot wear and appropriate clothing may be required.
