Responsibilities Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools following proper sanitation standards Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and prep work under supervision Support bussing duties by clearing tables promptly and ensuring dining areas remain tidy and welcoming Follow all kitchen health and safety standards, including manual handling protocols for heavy lifting and proper knife skills when necessary Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sinks, floors, and storage spaces to ensure a safe working environment Assist with food safety management practices by adhering to sanitation procedures and reporting any hazards or maintenance needs Qualifications Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential Knowledge of food handling, sanitation practices, and kitchen health standards is advantageous Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely and efficiently Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers or commercial cleaning tools is a plus Excellent attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and safety compliance Strong teamwork skills with the ability to support culinary staff during busy service periods A positive attitude towards hospitality and maintaining high standards of hygiene in a fast-paced environment
