Recreation Manager Season:
Winter 2026-2027 (Nov 1 - April 1) Winter Recreation Team Members support the club's outdoor ice rink, curling, winter events, and other seasonal activities. This position combines member and guest service with hands-on outdoor work to help maintain safe, clean, organized, and enjoyable recreation areas. Member and Guest Service Welcome members and guests, complete arrival check-ins, and assist with equipment distribution and returns. Explain basic skating and curling rules, scoring, and equipment use; help participants get started and keep curling groups within their reservation times. Monitor recreation areas, politely enforce club rules, and refer unresolved concerns to the Recreation Manager. Communicate hazards, injuries, incidents, and equipment concerns promptly and follow established emergency procedures. Events and Daily Operations Set up and break down furniture, equipment, and supplies for winter activities and special events. Clean activity areas, seating, furniture, and equipment; monitor and empty trash and recycling containers. Keep supplies and equipment organized, assist with inventory counts, and report missing or damaged items. Complete assigned opening and closing tasks, return equipment to designated storage, and leave areas ready for the next shift. Ice Rink and Curling Maintenance Assist with routine ice maintenance, including snow removal, surface preparation, and curling pebbling, after training and as directed by the Recreation Manager. Inspect rink and curling areas for debris, snow buildup, surface damage, and other conditions that may affect safety or play; report concerns immediately. Clear snow and ice from entrances, walkways, and high-traffic areas as assigned, and keep seating and access areas clear of equipment and other hazards. Monitor heater operation and propane levels as trained and report concerns. Operate maintenance equipment or handle propane only after training and authorization. Follow established procedures for responding to unsafe conditions and restricting access. Refer repairs and maintenance beyond assigned training to the Recreation Manager. Schedule and Availability Employees should have flexible availability for weekday afternoons and evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Individual availability and scheduling expectations will be discussed during hiring. Evening shifts Monday-Sunday typically begin at 3:30 PM and end around 10:00 PM. Daytime shifts Friday-Sunday typically run from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Early morning or additional evening shifts may be needed for ice preparation, weather-related maintenance, or special events. Season dates, weekly hours, and shift times may vary with weather, reservations, events, and operational needs. Qualifications and Work Expectations Dependable and punctual, with strong customer service and communication skills and a positive, professional attitude. Able to follow instructions, work independently on assigned tasks, and support other team members. Attentive to details, willing to learn maintenance procedures, and able to adapt when weather or event needs change. Comfortable working actively outdoors in cold, snowy, and wet winter conditions. Able to perform physical duties including extended standing and walking, bending, pushing and pulling equipment, shoveling snow, and lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds, with reasonable accommodation as applicable.
Pay:
From $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 40.0 per week
